This Easter was different from any Easter Tyler and I have ever had because this year we had little Malia to share it with. She may not know what is going on or why their is a basket full of toys and puffs but it was fun for us at least.
We went to Walmart to go shopping for her easter together this week. I thought this was going to be an in and out task. Little did we know we hadn't yet blended our Easter traditions. I remember when we were first married and we had to decide how to handle the big holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. After our first Holiday season I assumed we had blended our traditions and it was all done. I just didn't remember Easter because until you have kids this holiday just doesn't seem as big.
So there we were standing in Walmart trying to figure out what to do. It wasn't an argument at all in fact most of the time we were laughing because we both hadn't realized that our Easters were so different.
The questions of whether we only buy one basket for all of her Easters or a basket ever year?Do you have toys in your basket or not? It was funny to see how opposite everything was. We did come to a conclusion that this year it didn't matter. We bought a basket if we don't use it next year ok. We did get her a toy because come on she can't eat candy and we were just buying her puffs as her treat she might as well get something enjoyable out of it. So here is to a great Easter weekend!
