Penguin Anxiety

Ever since my little one was still little I tried to routinely rotate out her stuffed animals. So she wouldn't attach to one specific animal.

Well that was working out until we went on vacation to Hawaii this month. Little M. now has her favorite stuffed animal which is her pink penguin.

Penguin stats:

Weight: roughly 2 oz.
Color: pink and white.
Current condition: loved.
Name: take your lips and blow two raspberries in a row and I'm not kidding.

While we were on vacation it slowly became more of a priority to make sure we had penguin. However, since we have gotten home it has reached and all time high.

Incident number one, was at the pool. We went to the pool for her Swim lesson/fun at the pool. However, we did not have fun because we could not grasp the concept that her stuffed penguin could not join her in the pool. She then spent 2 hours either asking for or looking for penguin.

Incident number two, was at home getting ready to take a bath. Little M. once again could not part with her penguin to take a bath. Explaining to her again That he could not get wet I accidently stated That We would have to throw away penguin if he took a bath with her. This sparked a total breakdown as I think she thought I said I was going to throw away penguin. After 20 min of explaining we weren't going to throw penguin away we came to a compromise. We would put penguin in his own dry tub/tupperware with some bath toys place that next to her tub and then we could take our bath.

My current project which I call penguin anxiety is to wean little M. off her penguin. Wish me luck.
